Requirements:
- 7 years + experience in US tax preparation with an emphasis in High Net-Worth individuals. Knowledge/understanding of UK tax a bonus
- Degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s degree a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in person and writing
- Demonstrates proactive thinking
- Possess a strong desire to learn and contribute to operational success of cross-border teamwork with assistance from offshore team
- Management skills: Experience developing and training team members and efficiently managing workflow
- Technical skills: SurePrep/ CCH Axcess
- Research skills: Bloomberg, written tax research memos, IRS Form Instructions and Publications
Job Role:
- Perform top-level review of US tax returns (Form 1040/104NR) for sign off by offshore team, with high level of experience and understanding of foreign reporting/filing requirements (e.g., Forms 1116, 3520, 3520-A, 114, 8938, 8621, 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865) and Streamline Foreign Offshore Procedures
- Forms 709, 1041, 1065, 1120 knowledge a bonus (not mandatory)
- Supervise junior tax professionals’ assignments and manage the day-to-day delivery of tax returns to be delivered to offshore team
- Develop and motivate junior members of the team by reviewing their work and providing them with effective feedback, coaching, leadership and career guidance
- Monitor workflow to ensure tax returns are completed efficiently and in requested time frame
- Champion initiatives in operational matters and organisational efficiency
- Communicate with offshore team to provide updates on work-in-house and identify any concerns regarding workflow management
